How to add an article
Pages are static “one-off” type content like your "About" page, privacy policy, contact page, and more. While the database stores the published date of the page, pages are timeless entities and generally remain static. Articles are used to create latest thinking, blog content, articles, and other content listed on your blog page. They’re shown in reverse chronological order, so that the newest content is shown at the top of the list.
Some of the key differences are:
- Articles are timely, and pages are timeless.
- Articles are meant to be shared on social media, and pages are not.
- Articles are organised using categories and tags, while pages are hierarchical and organized as child and parent pages.
- Articles have an author and published date, while pages do not.
Search engines like content to be organised. Timeless and evergreen content is important. However, there is a lot of priority given to content published recently.
To add an article, you will first need to create a blog. The blog is a page that contains your articles. You can add additional content to the blog page via blocks.
Navigate to the 'Articles' section via the left hand navigation bar and if there is no existing blog, Course Hub will prompt you to create it.
Once the blog has been created, you can then add you first article. Click on the 'Add article' button. You can add a title and content in the same way you would for a page.
When you move to the Settings tab, you can add the Author, SEO and tags for the article. Hit save once you have entered all your information.
